Offering an ethnic, comic, vintage postcard from 1912.
This antique postcard jokes about the Dutch or Norwegian accent and features a lonely boy saying: Dis Iss Leap Year und I Aint Got Any Popposal Yet.
He wears wooden shoes an ethnic hat and clothes. Minnesota was settled mainly by immigrants from Scandinavia, Norway, Germany and Holland, so this would have been very funny and very understood at the time.
The postcard measures 3 1/2" X 5 1/2". There is a hand written letter at the back, a postmaster ink stamp dated 1912 and a Ben Franklin 1 cent postage stamp.
My postcards are all originals from the time stated.
This postcard has no tears just some light foxing. Slight crease in one corner.
